PFLAG Cedar Rapids
We have quite a lot planned for October 13 in consideration of National Coming Out Day.
In consideration of National Coming Out Week, the LGBTQIA+ Resource Coalition, PFLAG Cedar Rapids, and The Alliance Center of Linn County are jointly hosting an LGBTQIA+ resource fair.
Join us on Thursday October 13th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at Grant Wood AEA for an evening that will include:
Providers of services in the areas of health & reproduction, law, civil rights, faith & spirituality, advocacy, crisis intervention, and youth development
A presentation on suicide prevention by Susan Norman, author of Preventing Suicide, at 7 pm at the PFLAG meeting

Remember there is power in community. We are stronger together, families, parents, friends, gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual, non-binary, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning and allies. Sexuality and gender exists on a spectrum throughout the world regardless of ethnicity, class, religions, gender, socioeconomic condition, or education. If someone comes out to you, here are a couple of things which you can say right away: “I am honored you told me. You know I love you. We can learn more about that as we live.”
Join us for one of our confidential support groups.
PFLAG support is geared towards individuals, family, friends and allies of gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, transgender and questioning people. We meet at 2nd Thursday at 7:00pm – 9:00 pm. Check the calendar and Facebook for any changes due to weather or schedule glitches.
Transformations Cedar Rapids support is geared towards individuals, family, friends and allies of transgender individuals. This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Check the calendar and Facebook for any changes due to weather or schedule glitches
